KHONA-I MEHRISTON

INTRODUCTION TO KHANEH MEHRESTAN INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT

The “Khaneh Mehrestan” project in Dushanbe is the design of a 320 square meter villa-apartment conceived as a dynamic platform for a family’s growth, intelligently blurring the boundaries between public, work, and private areas. The space is organized into three principal zones. The Guest-Work Zone features an acoustic office and formal living areas, designed for elegant entertaining and professional tasks. At the heart of the layout is the Central Living Zone, which includes a professional open kitchen and a family living room, serving as the warm, inviting core of the home. The final area is the Southern Retreat, dedicated to personal sanctuary, housing the master suite and custom-designed rooms for the two children. The design utilizes technical innovations like three-mode lighting and invisible partitions to maximize functionality alongside aesthetic appeal.

The interior aesthetic draws inspiration from Bohemian and Rustic styles to create a warm and authentic experience. This is achieved through the extensive use of naturally textured materials, including unpolished stone flooring, wood with natural grain, and micro cement wall finishes, giving each space a unique identity. Key design elements such as a suspended fireplace, woven chandeliers, and natural plants harmonize the rustic and modern themes. Special attention was paid to the children’s rooms, which utilize vibrant colors and age-appropriate elements—including dynamic design that supports both study and play—to foster creativity and align with their spirits, making the apartment a purposefully designed, sustainable, and evolving home.
