ROOF GARDEN TWO SPACES, TWO NARRATIVES

This project involved designing a luxury rooftop garden for a new tower in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, with the core challenge being the fusion of two contrasting architectural worlds: the classical, formal style of the tower’s exterior and a soft, modern interior space. This duality led to a clear functional and aesthetic segregation. The indoor area, housed within a glass structure with a sloped roof, functions as a cozy indoor greenhouse and cafe. This space features soft, curved lines, lush plants, comfortable seating, and amenities like a cafe bar and billiard table, creating an intimate, relaxing atmosphere, which serves as the beating heart of the tower.

The exterior space, designed as a classic entertainment and reception area, stands in complete aesthetic contrast and harmony with the tower’s formal architecture. This outdoor area utilizes straight lines, elegant columns, and stone materials to convey grandeur. The program includes a full bar, a barbecue space, a dining table for social gatherings, and an open-air cinema for unforgettable nights. Connecting the interior greenhouse to the exterior are four dedicated balconies, each acting as a separate destination, equipped with green spaces, cozy seating, and fire pits to extend usability into cooler evenings, thereby completing the narrative journey that seamlessly links two distinct architectural styles.
