BROTHERS VILLA

A MODERN FUSION OF ARCHITECTURE AND NATURE IN THE HEART OF MASAL

This project involved designing a modern villa complex in the mountainous landscape of Masal, Gilan, for two brothers sharing a plot. The primary architectural challenge was achieving a delicate equilibrium between the two families’ independence and their desire for ample shared, recreational space. The adopted strategy involved creating two independent duplex villas linked by a central, shared core, evoking the feeling of entering a communal courtyard via the main entrance on the western side. This central spine is the beating heart of the project, housing major recreational amenities, including an indoor pool, cinema, game room, and gym. The use of a full-height, continuous window wall in this shared space visually connects the pool and interior activities with the surrounding green landscape.

Each of the two residential units is a duplex villa designed with a clear separation of function. The Ground Floor is dedicated to the public areas, featuring the living room, kitchen, dining area, and a guest suite, providing a cozy space for daily life. The First Floor is reserved for private quarters, containing three master bedrooms and an upstairs living area. A key architectural element in the villas is a double-height void that channels natural light to the public areas below, enhancing the sense of spaciousness. The central shared core features a flat roof, creating a deliberate and dynamic architectural contrast with the pitched roofs of the main villas, establishing a unified yet distinct modern identity for the entire complex.
